Marty just told me that Steve Mirsky is coming to speak to the New England Skeptic's Society on July 15. He is one of our favorite cultural critics. He publishes a monthly column in Scientific American, but I first discovered him in 1995 when he was running the awesome site Mirsky's Worst of the Web. He used to find the funniest, most awful sites and feature them. The Web felt very different back then. I guess it was just a lot smaller.
