I am feeling sooooo uninspired. But it's been way too long since an update. Let me just empty my brain and maybe that'll help.

I had a nice weekend, went to Pennsylvania to visit Katynka (of Odin fame). The weather was absolutely gorgeous, probably two of the nicest days ever in August in Central PA. We ate at my favorite restaurant, went to a local arts festival, made dinner, played with the cat. I sold a bunch of books to the used bookstore for $80, which was nice and enabled a little trip to Value City before I came home. On the way home my car broke down and I killed two hours in a gas station in Nowhere, Pennsylvania. I made it home the same night though.

In other news, I feel like I'm getting a UTI. It was so bad I called the doctor and they had me go to the lab for a test. I guess we'll have the results tomorrow (I hope). In the meantime I've drunk about 1/3 gallon of cranberry juice in the last 2 hours and it seems to be helping. I hate feeling like this but I think I know why it happened.

Sonal bought a bunch of great CDs. I am so psyched. It makes me want to go to Florida and hit this store she went to.

I won't quite get all the way to Tampa, but I am going south next week. Saturday morning Marty and I are leaving to drive down to Georgia. We're going to see our families and pick up some furniture to bring back. It's going to be great to be home even if it's just for a couple of days. I can't say I'm looking forward to the 50 hours or so in the car, but it will be nice to have a week off work.

Work is okay. I am now a department of one. In some ways it's lonesome, but in other ways it's just fine.

I'm still listening to Stone Temple Pilots, although in the last couple of days I have needed the low-key sounds of Bob Dylan to keep me calm and mellow. It's just been a kind of harried time. My CD burner is not functioning properly and I need to fix it, but I'm scared to do anything to the computer when I'm feeling so frazzled.

Maria is seeing kd lang in concert tonight in Michigan and I am jealous. :-) I love her new CD. It sounds like she's in love.

Tomorrow I am getting something that could open up a whole new world for my web site. We'll see.

What else? The neighbors have given us a basket of ripe tomatoes and I plan to have tomato sandwiches for dinner. YUM.
