Alles Gute zum Geburtstag, Papa!

Sorry I'm late! The birthday wishes are heartfelt in any case.

And an update:

Soooooo, it's been a busy month. Fun and eventful and busy. Two of my cousins were here visting from Atlanta for ten days, and we had a lot of fun. Also some adventures, including a car accident in Rothenburg ob der Tauber (thankfully, not our fault), but even that didn't put a damper on the visit. We still managed to see Rothenburg, Salzburg, and lots of sights (and daily life) in Munich.

Also, R.E.M.! They played in Munich last Saturday night and Marty and our two cousins and I went to see it. Wow, they were great! We also had some excitement earlier that day, when we happened across Mike Mills (of R.E.M.) in Marienplatz downtown. Nobody else but us seemed to recognize who he was! I couldn't help myself; I took a picture. I felt kind of papparazzi-esque, but dude! He was standing right there! (I actually did get back and zoom in, so as not to bug him.) And do you recognize that man in the shades behind him? Hee.

My chorus is gearing up for a concert next week (a week from today, actually) and this week is busy with preparations -- a section rehearsal (or two, maybe), a regular rehearsal, and then a big dress rehearsal all day Sunday. I am still trying to learn the choreography for Heatwave, and brush up on the other songs. I haven't performed in a chorus in, oh, sixteen years. Since college. And I've certainly never worn a sequinned dress to sing before. Wooo!

Munich is fun in the summertime and we are getting out a lot and seeing things and doing things. I guess that's part of the reason I haven't been updating so much recently. But I'm still around! And still taking pictures, even if it takes me forever to get them on the web.
