American Beer Garden
I just got a piece of junk email with the subject line, "Reduce debt the Christian way." Now that I've deleted it, I'm sitting here wondering... What Would Jesus Do about high interest rates on credit cards?
Please excuse my extreme lack of updates. This happens sometimes, as you know. This time it's caused by a busy work schedule, lots going on with chorus, and the temperature of the study (where my computer is). We have a window unit air conditioner to go in this room, but (as Marty said) the air conditioner fairy has not yet visited...
This weekend we cooled off by spending a pleasant couple of hours in a beer garden here in town. The only beer garden I am aware of in our town, as a matter of fact. If you think I'm stretching the truth, check it out:

It's the backyard at Eli Cannon's, one of our favorite spots. You'll notice the blackboard sitting in the foreground, which lists all the beers they currently have on tap. Of course, there are some significant differences from a real (Munich) beer garden. For instance, at this beer garden, strangers don't sit together at the same tables. Unless perhaps the table is very long and there are only two people at one end. Also, in this beer garden, there is no "bring your own food" option, which is standard in authentic Munich beer gardens. And of course, at Eli's, there are waiters bringing your beer, instead of self-service.
Just like most beer gardens, though, the atmosphere is pleasant and conducive to conversation, and we enjoyed it.
I have lots more pictures from last weekend, but I'll have to post them later.
