Whee!

First time in the swing!

Here is Alex enjoying his first ride in a swing at the park! I've been waiting for months for him to be big enough to go in the baby swings, and now I think he is. He sits up so well that I wasn't worried about his head flopping around anymore. He did great!

We've had a fun weekend. Yesterday we went on a hike up the Mattabesett trail and Alex rode in the new backpack carrier. He seemed to like being up so high. He even took a nap in the carrier!

Today we went out to the park and then to Lyman Orchards. The local peaches are in! They are delicious.

Last week was a big week around here. You may have heard that the Connecticut Democrats chose a new candidate to run for senate this fall. Ned Lamont defeated Joe Lieberman in the Democratic primary last Tuesday. Marty, Alex, and I met Ned Lamont the week before, at a rally here in Middletown.

Ned Lamont and Marty

It's been interesting to see all the national (and even international) press coverage of our local primary election!

As I've said before, adorable baby! Really, just too cute. And, GO Dems!

On the swings already! Oh, my! That's one good-looking boy there. And, I knew the Dems wouldn't have to worry about Alex getting a late start in politics. ;-) Go, Ned!

Love that expression on his little face: pure joy!

How cool that you met Lamont. I find it very interesting that his opponent seems to care more about staying in the race than what listening to the people of the great state of Connecticut.
