Busy Boy
Busy Boy - February 2007Originally uploaded by Raspberry World.
Alex seems to be hitting a bunch of new developmental milestones this month. He’s walking more and more every day. He has great balance, although he still won’t stand up unless he has something to pull up on (even if it’s just my leg). He can walk all the way across the room and back.
He’s also started putting toys inside other things. You can see in the picture that he’s loaded up the silo with all his farm animals (and then some — the giraffe is on top). He knows how to fill it up and then open the door at the bottom and get them all out. I was thinking this was a new skill until I realized that he’s been putting toys through Ziggy’s cat door for a couple of months.
In one of the other pictures up above, you can see him helping Marty put a new table together. We got a little picnic table for Alex that he can use indoors or outdoors (when the weather is better). Julia has this same table and she really enjoys it. Well, Alex seemed to know it was for him. He wanted to help Marty with every step of putting it together — well, except for when he got distracted by the box it came in.
Putting on his jacket, mittens, and hat has become quite a production. He’s figured out how to pull the mittens off, so he pulls the first one off while you’re putting the second one on, then he pulls the second one off while you’re putting the first one back on, etc, etc. Once you do manage to get him dressed to go out, he’s likely to lie down on the floor in protest (see above). Not kicking or screaming, just lying down to show he’s annoyed by the entire experience.
He seems more like a toddler every day. I love how much he’s interacting with us now. What a funny little guy.
There are a bunch of new pictures up at Flickr, so check out the February gallery.
