Mr. Manners

Daddy’s birthday cake

Today Alex and I went out to lunch, just the two of us. Alex was so well behaved! I was so proud of him! I just have to brag a little.
Not only was he patient and civilized, but he even put his napkin in his lap and then used it to clean his mouth! I had seen him put a napkin in his lap before but I had never seen him use one! He also used the signs for “please” and “thank you” when he asked for his milk, and used a fork to eat the pizza I cut up for him. What a polite little boy!
He was a great dining companion, especially considering that he is only one year old.
The picture above is from the day after Marty’s birthday, when Alex finally got a piece of the birthday cake. (He went to bed too early on the actual birthday to have a piece.) That day was the first time I ever saw Alex put a napkin in his lap!

he’s a cutie!
one of my favorite memories of my oldest child was a time when she was three and we went to get frozen yogurt. we had a real conversation as we ate, and i realized that she was turning into a “person” - not just my baby. :)
