Rainy Night

It’s been threatening rain all day, cloudy and overcast, and finally we heard a clap of thunder and the rain started falling. I hope it will be a good soaking rain for my garden.

So far in the garden we have strawberry plants, blackberry plants, rhubarb, green beans and a few tomato plants. We also have some herbs planted around the other side of the house. I still plan to put in more tomatoes, and plant some flower seeds. Then I just need to put down the mulch. Maybe tomorrow.

Oh, Alex and I also planted pumpkin seeds, but I’m not sure they’ll do much. And I put in some raspberries, but they’ll just be getting established this year.

We also have a few little green snakes roaming around. I know where one of them lives, under the rock between the raised beds. That one likes to eat frogs.

Last night we went to the local Lion’s Club carnival on the town green. Alex enjoyed riding the kiddie rides with our neighbor, Ava, who is 2 months older than him. He went down the big slide (with Daddy), played in the moon bounce, rode the carousel (many times with Mommy or Daddy), rode in the airplanes like a big boy with Ava, and went on one other kiddie ride by himself. I will try to download the pictures tomorrow and post them to Flickr. The only fair food we ate was ice cream, although the fried dough smelled delicious.
