We celebrated all day long, from a birthday breakfast at home, to a birthday party with friends at Stay & Play, and finally a Superbowl dinner with our neighbors. Alex had a great day. Charles Nicholas was born on January 12, 2009. He weighed 8 lbs, 15 oz, and was 19 inches long. He is doing great! We will call him Charlie. Alex is so happy to be a big brother. I expected it to feel like a bigger deal than it does, but I think the impending arrival of baby brother is taking my mind off of it. Alex and I made and decorated these gingerbread cookies on Monday. Yum! Here’s the recipe: 8 tbsp butter (1 stick) Linzer cookies Originally uploaded by Raspberry World. I hosted a cookie exchange this weekend. These Linzer cookies were my contribution. I made six dozen using this recipe from the King Arthur Flour website. I also ordered special glazing sugar, toasted hazelnut flour, and Linzer cookie cutters to make these lovelies. This morning, he strapped on a backpack and stuffed a bear into the front of it to pretend he was carrying his “baby” in a front carrier.
