Painting the Dining Room, April 13 - 15, 2001

In April 2001 we decided to redo our dining room. Over a three-day weekend we got most of the work done. All we have left to do now is replace the baseboards, paint the trim (mostly the window frames), and get new shades for the windows. Here are the pictures of what we accomplished this weekend:

Friday - prepping the room to paint

Furniture bundled under a tarp, and the old chandelier

Marty taping paper down to protect the floor

Painting the ceiling (cutting in)

Painting the ceiling with the roller

Ziggy helps us unpack the new chandelier

Putting the light fixture together (it was only in about 30 pieces)

Installing the light in a freshly-painted ceiling

What an improvement!

Saturday - painting the room

Painting with Sherwin Williams "Moor Green" in satin finish

The supervisor is sleeping on the job

Wet paint!

Same corner, 6 hours later!

Another view

Everything's back to normal

Note new brass switchplates and outlets

We still have to replace the baseboards...

Sunday... curtains are hung, and a few pictures, too

What a pretty room!
