Photo Gallery 1999 - 2001

August, 1999.  Marty and I bought a house that was built in 1765. This was the beginning of a bunch of projects, many of which are pictured here.

The floors.  Since there was old wall-to-wall carpet in every room, we decided to take it out and have the floors refinished. Unfortunately, when the carpet came out, we discovered big badly-patched holes in the floor of almost every room in the house. Before the floors could be refinished, the holes had to be patched, and we did the patching ourselves. Here are some of the before and after pictures of the floors.

Fall, 1999. We have a lot of trees in our new yard, and last fall was glorious. Here are some of the pictures:

Winter, 1999 - 2000. As winter began, we had a big project going on to get the gas heat installed.  It was finished just a week before Christmas.

Spring, 2000.

Early this spring, we took a trip to Central Pennsylvania to visit our friend Katynka. Here are a few pictures from her house (featuring Odin, the wonder-cat).

When the weather turned a little warmer, we installed our fancy mailbox (which my mother-in-law and I painted while she was visiting in December).

In April we started a project to renovate our living room. This is our first big do-it-yourself project on the house since patching the floors. We decided to paint the walls, remove the baseboard heaters, and build bookcases along one wall. Here are some of the pictures.

Fall, 2000.  On October 13 we took a drive on the Mohawk Trail in Massachusetts to see the fall foliage.
