Driving the Mohawk Trail, page 2

This is "Mohawk Park," as you can see in the picture. It's somewhere near Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, on Route 2.

The park features a statue called "Hail to the Sunrise." Here are front and back views. We think it must face the east.

Tourist Cabins along the Deerfield River

Across the street is a little tourist campground featuring seven tiny old-time tourist cabins. Someone appears to be refurbishing them.

I think of all the American families whose vacations were spent driving around the US, sightseeing and staying in places like this. I think I would have enjoyed that kind of vacation.

Behind the cabins, the view across the river was gorgeous.
