The Snobby Americana Project is an interesting music project from Rob of Darn Tootin'. (Scroll down to get info on his page.) I've enjoyed the first few pieces, and the discussion on his mailing list is interesting as well. I'm looking forward to the others.

In other news, this pop playlist I made has entirely too much Britney Spears in it. No matter how I shuffle the songs, I keep coming across these... Britney clumps. Very odd. (And I'm sorry, Rob. I realize this is a terrible thing to write about at the same time I'm pimping your project.)

Coming at you live from 1995...

I'm having a serious Matthew Sweet fest lately. 100% Fun and Girlfriend are on my list of all-time faves, and they're just as good today as they were when they were first released.

Although they do take me back to the 90s, man.

Apparently, Matthew Sweet has formed a group with Shawn Mullins and Pete Droge, The Thorns. They have an album coming out later this spring, and I can't wait to hear it. Because they're all good, but -- Matthew Sweet. Love his guitar and his voice so much.

Just a few of my favorite MS songs:

Sick of Myself
Girlfriend
Smog Moon
Not When I Need It
Come to Love
I've Been Waiting
Someone to Pull the Trigger
Evangeline
Thought I Knew You
Devil with the Green Eyes

And that's just off the top of my head. I love so many of his songs. I would so love to see him in concert! If he ever tours again!

Last Saturday, I got my tickets for REM on July 5, here in Munich. I can't wait! Whooo!
