Hard Stuff This is a CD I made for a Christmas present for my friend Laura. She likes a lot of different types of music, but she hadn't been exposed to any of these bands before. I knew she'd like the lyrics to some of these songs, but I didn't know whether she'd like the music or not. The jury's still out on that. I also made a second version of this CD for Celeste. That one had no Nine Inch Nails because she already owns all those songs. I filled it out with more songs by the other artists. She's really been getting into Everclear and Live lately, so she really liked this CD. The cover image is a photo of a Stoli bottle which I've modified in Photoshop. I used the underwater distortion effect, added a drop shadow, and printed it on heavy white paper. I like how it turned out, particularly because on the CD you can still just make out the letters on the bottle. I've seen that Stoli bottle looking like that from time to time, myself . . .
