Inspiration!

I made this CD for my brother, Tom-Paul. Recently, for his 13th birthday, he was given a Fender Stratocaster. So Marty and I picked some of our favorite electric guitar music and made this disk for inspiration.

When I started this cover, I went to the Fender website and downloaded a bunch of different pictures of their guitars. The problem was, the pictures were so small that when I enlarged them, the resolution was too low.

So I used Photoshop to modify one of the guitars, distorting the image to compensate for the low resolution. I used a bunch of art effects, glows, and shadows, then put it on a background of black and gray clouds. I used the same guitar, rotated, on the back of the case.  I added the CD title in Illustrator, because it has a great text path feature.
