Red Vines
August, 2001

A visit CD from my trip to Tampa in August. Sonal and I put it together while I was there, and I did the cover after I got home.

It starts and ends with Liz Phair because she is "our girl." There are three songs from Moulin Rouge because it was a major theme of the weekend. "Honky Cat" and "Satellite of Love" were in other movies we watched during the visit. "Leave" is the powertool REM song. "Come In, Sweet Assassin" and "Someone to Pull the Trigger" are Alex Krycek songs. We commemorated the cross-pollination of our CD collections: Sonal is responsible for introducing me to Aimee Mann and Dar Williams; my contributions to her music include STP and Matthew Sweet. Sonal's love for Tori Amos has helped me to appreciate her music more.

It turned out great. And the red vines were yummy, too.
