I got this cookie recipe from a fellow Penn State grad student at a Christmas cookie swap party in 1993.

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 C sugar
  • 1/2 C oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 2 C all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 C sifted confectioner's sugar

Method

  1. Beat together eggs, sugar, oil, and vanilla; add chocolate.
  2. Stir in flour and baking powder. Mix well.
  3. Cover and chill for 1 to 2 hours.
  4. Roll chilled dough between hands into about 48 1-inch balls. Roll in confectioner's sugar and place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets.
  5. Bake at 375° F for 10 minutes.
  6. Cool on racks.
